Plowman Craven 3D have perfected the
art, science, and technology of obtaining reliable information about
physical objects and the environment through the processes of recording,
measuring, and interpreting photographic images.
Our digital and film based metric cameras have
stable and precisely known internal geometries and very low lens
distortions, thus allowing us to create rectified images and orthophotographs,
in which images are rectified and combined to remove perspective
effects. At Plowman Craven 3D we use digital workstations and analogue
plotters to undertake the processing of stereophotogrammetry for
full 3D restitution of structures and landscapes. Since the photography
is essentially "non-contact," it provides a unique way
of observing and recording information, without the requirement
of a physical contact with the subject matter. Cameras provide the
means to photograph dangerous or inaccessible subjects with little
or no risk to equipment and personnel. We are adept at both aerial
and terrestrial image capture and processing and have undertaken
projects all over the United Kingdom, Europe and even further a
field. Our professional photographers and technical staff use all
their experience and the latest technology to meet the requirements
of our clients in a cost affective manner, producing bespoke solutions
in both 2D and 3D.

Photogrammetry is the cornerstone of the Plowman
Craven 3D structure. Understanding image based 3D data capture has
allowed us to seamlessly assimilate and integrate new 3D technology,
as it has become available. However, Plowman Craven 3D still provide
unparalleled quality photographic recording across the full spectrum
of image based digital products. Whether you require rectified photographic
images of a church tower, orthophotographs of large tracts of an
urban landscape or intricate line work drawings of the ornate elevations
of a Royal Palace from high resolution stereo photography, Plowman
Craven 3D should be your first point of contact. Our firm foundations
in terrestrial and aerial photogrammetry continue to underpin Plowman
Craven 3D, enabling us to offer the complete range of geomatic techniques
to all our clients. As a technology and a methodology it is as valid
and relevant today as when it was first introduced by Aime Laussedat
in the 19th Century. We therefore see absolutely no reason to move
away from its proven value.
